Alexis is scheduled for her trigger finger release surgery this Tuesday. The anesthesiologist called me this morning to go over the meds they're gonna give her and the procedures. He was really nice and answered all my questions. He told me they're going to give her a mask to breath in the medicine and put her to sleep, then the IV with stronger meds and then a breathing tube. The breathing tube freaks me out. I hung up and started crying and I don't know why! I'm not afraid of them messing up, I know they know what they're doing. It's the thought of her lying there limp with a breathing tube... uhg. It just makes me sick. I have to wonder if this is really what's best for her! The Doctor said she's at the best age to do it. And it's her right thumb so she should get it done before Kindergarten. But what if it really doesn't NEED to be done? What if I'm jumping the gun? (no pun intended) I'm just starting to question it now that it's getting closer. It's minor surgery but I cried more than she did when she got a TOOTH pulled! I just can't handle hurting my baby. =(

The Creature had a clogged tear duct and had to have surgery at 20mo. The hardest thing was handing him off to the nurse, and him waking up from the drugs. After that he was FINE, he was playing/wrestling two hours after. I promise, it will all be fine. :)
Thanks. Glad I'm not the only weenie. =)
It was rescheduled. Maybe I'll be more ready in August. =)
